First Jr National Qualification for Alma Smith and Inland Empire Diving

Tualatin Hills, OR, Coming into Zones we were looking to have fun and do a little competition. Our first day of competition was on the one meter, and we didn’t do so well after a few dives, which put us in 23rd overall for 1m. However, bouncing back from a bad day of diving, Alma regained his focus well enough on three meter springboard to nab a spot for Jr Nationals. Placing 12th with a three meter personal best score of 396.55.

USA Diving Jr. Nationals is being held in Los Angeles (Mission Viejo), July 21-Aug 1st. Alma will compete July 28th in preliminaries, where top 6 advance to semifinals.
