Summer programming

  • Tiny Bouncers Program

Location: EWU Aquatic Center (Cheney) — Dryland & On-Deck Training

Tiny Bouncers is a high-energy, confidence-building program designed for our youngest athletes. This class introduces children to the fundamental movement patterns of both gymnastics and diving in a supportive, fun-filled environment. By focusing on coordination and basic mechanics, we help children develop the physical strength and listening skills needed for future athletic success, all while fostering a lifelong love of being active.

Skills Learned: Fundamental gymnastics (forward/backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstand progressions) and beginner diving concepts (takeoff techniques, tuck/pike shapes, and safe landing mechanics). Athletes focus on improving balance, flexibility, and overall athletic coordination through guided play and structured drills.

    Dates & Times (Two Days a Week):‍ ‍
    Session Dates: June 22nd – July 30th

    Option 1: Monday / Wednesday (10:15 AM – 11:00 AM)
    Option 2: Tuesday / Thursday (10:15 AM – 11:00 AM)

  • Learn to Dive Camps

Locations: Liberty Aquatic Center (Spokane) & EWU Aquatic Center (Cheney)

Our Summer Diving Camps are designed to introduce new athletes to the sport through a fun, skill-based curriculum and environment. Divers will transition from basic pool-side entries to confident use of the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards (EWU). We focus on building the body awareness and confidence to attempt new skills, ensuring every student develops a strong physical foundation for diving.

Skills Learned: Proper hurdle and back-press mechanics, technical body positions (Tuck, Pike, and Straight), and safe diving board protocols. Divers progress through front and back jumps with twists and master "line-ups" (fall-ins) to ensure safe, vertical head-first entries. Exceptional divers may be introduced to somersaults, flips, and inward or reverse categories.

Dates & Times (Monday – Thursday):
    Sessions start June 15th

Liberty Aquatic Center: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
EWU Aquatic Center: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

    Cost: $75 per week.

  • Summer Dive League

Locations: Witter Pool (Spokane) & EWU Aquatic Center (Cheney)

Summer League serves as a developmental bridge for divers who have outgrown beginner lessons but aren't ready for a year-round commitment. This program emphasizes skill mastery and consistency through a significant increase in repetitions. The League moves beyond basic jumps to help divers gain true comfort and confidence in the air while building a versatile foundation in a supportive team environment.

Skills Learned: Mastery of three advanced dive categories: Inwards (rotating toward the board), Reverses (rotating backward while moving forward), and Twists (spinning while maintaining a clean entry). Divers will finish the summer with a complete dive list they can perform with confidence.
